    Fri 30 Nov 2018

    Congratulations Breakfast Club!

We were delighted to hear the news earlier this month that our Before School Club was voted the winner of Best Breakfast club in the West Midlands in the Kellogs Breakfast Club Awards. On Tuesday Miss West, Mrs Blow and four of our regular pupils were invited to attend a prizegiving ceremony at the houses of Parliament! They had a fantastic time with a special lunch overlooking the River Thames and received a lovely plaque and £1000 for school! Well done to everyone involved! J

  • School Council vist the Lord Mayor

    Mon 26 Nov 2018 Zuzanna & Esther

Last Friday (23rd November), the school council, along with Mrs Fowler and Miss Carey went to visit the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor John Blundell, at the Council House. During our time there we took part in a question and answer session which we found to be very educational. Did you know that if a lady becomes a Lord Mayor, they are still called 'Lord Mayor' and not a 'Lady Mayoress!'. The Lord Mayor advised us, that to be a good school councillor we must be brave and have our own opinions on matters that are important to us.

We enjoyed a drink and some biscuits in the parlour, overlooked by portraits of the previous Mayors and Lord Mayors. Afterwards we were lucky enough to go through in to the Chamber to see where newly appointed British citizens have their ceremony and photographs taken next to a picture of Queen Elizabeth II.

  • British Parliament Week

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

Although we are a week later than the official British Parliament week, this is what we have been focusing on this week in school. The children have been learning about how our country is run, who makes the decisions and laws etc. and how they can have their say and get involved. Children in Year 6 experienced a Magistrates workshop on Thursday where they took part in a role play of a trial and learnt how our justice system works. They really enjoyed it! Also our school council went to meet and interview the Lord Mayor this morning! Next Tuesday a small group of pupils will be visiting the Houses of Parliament to collect a prize that our Out of School Club have won!

  • School Council

    Fri 02 Nov 2018
Congratulations to Liam, Izzy, Esther, Mary, Timi, Zuzanna and Thresa who have been awarded places on our School Council for this academic year. They will work alongside our Head Boy (Noah) and Head Girl (Bridget) with Miss Carey to think about how we can improve our school, listen to and share the views of all the other pupils, organise fun events and raise money for charities. Good luck in your new role!
