Safeguarding

Safeguarding Children – our annual statement

In the interest of safeguarding children there may be

occasions when the school has to consult other agencies without a parent’s prior knowledge. The school’s first concern is the child’s welfare and the school has a duty to act to protect the child at all times. Such consultation may result in a formal referral which could prompt visits from social services and/or the police.  We fully understand that this can be a very distressing set of circumstances, but we can only assure you that we follow the procedures laid down by the Coventry Safeguarding Board, a copy of which is available in school as is a copy of our own policy.

Keeping Safe Online

On Wednesday 5th October Sergeant Mercer came in to school to talk to Years 5 and 6 about how to stay safe online. The children learnt about what to do if they are a victim of cyber bullying but also the long term affects for them if they are caught sending inappropriate messages. We have advised the children to look at all of their privacy settings on social media sites and we ask that parents have their children’s passwords so they can be checking that their children are safe online.
