New YR Transition 2020

Welcome to the Reception Class 2020 - 2021

Thank you for confirming your child's place at school. We are looking forward to getting to know you and your family during your years with us at Saint Osburg's.

Typically during the months of June and July we would host a 'Starting School' meeting, provide you with a tour of the  school and your child would have the opportunity for a 'stay and play' session in their new classroom.

Unfortunately at the moment, due to COVID 19, school is only open to a limited number of pupils and therefore our transition arrangements have had to be altered. However, let us reassure you that we will still be sharing all the necessary information with you so you can prepare yourself and your child for starting school.

Over the coming weeks on this page you will find welcome packs, online presentations, classroom tours, meet the staff videos, story times and getting ready for school activities.

I hope you find all the content helpful and informative - if you do have any questions please call the school office on 02476227165

Story Books to help your child get ready for school

Here are some story suggestions that you may like to share with your child to help them to prepare for school. If you are unable to get a copy online or in the shops, search for the storybook on YouTube.

Practical ways to get your child ready for Reception

Starting School Arrangements

Here is your welcome letter from Mrs Rynott informing you of the plans for the new Reception children in September. We have adapted our induction process inline with the our current situation. We hope that you can understand the reason for our new procedures and as a school we hope to not have to make any further changes. Please remember to refer to your 'Transition Information Page' which has been posted out to you.

Colouring Checklist

Over the summer holidays work through these skills with your child to get them 'school ready' for September. See 'Parents Guide' for further details smiley
